“The only ones with an actual history of invading their neighbors since WWII are the Russians.”

*****

Russia never invaded Finland, it was Finland and the Nazis who invaded Russia.

When the Russians were about to destroy Finland, Finland signed a peace treaty guarantying that would remain ever neutral and not join coalitions that threaten Russia.

How about that little Winter (Russo-Finnish) War in 1939?

“....The war began with a Soviet invasion of Finland on 30 November 1939, three months after the outbreak of World War II,....”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter_War

And prior to that there was the Finnish Civil War (Sideshow to the Russian Civil War). The new USSR dabbled in that!

I suggest that you read about the Winter War of 1939-1940.
