there are dozens of people every year that may be “accepted” to attend the military academies, but do not graduate or even attend the military academy.
there could be any number of valid reasons why Kathy did not graduate or even attend OCS after she was “accepted” to OCS.
I don’t happen to share your outrage.

My uncle underwent elite astronautical training during the 1950s, when dogs and monkeys were being sent into space. As top physics student at Princeton, he regularly stood in for Albert Einstein as his TA. He was so accomplished at gymnastics that they built an entire athletic program around him, yet there were no competitions in the early days.
There wasn’t much in the way of formal titles and degrees to show for all his achievements, but you can bet that he included them in his CV!
