My solution for this is scare quotes.
In writing, I use quotations around the person’s preferred pronoun: e.g. “He” murdered someone.
When talking, I use quote signs with my fingers to indicate the same thing.
This lets the reader/listener know that it is what the person calls himself or herself.
This is how I deal with it, but it is still very annoying to have to decipher news when it comes to sex and so-called gender.
