I wonder how that would work if they are working. Some can’t pump or even breast milk. My sister didn’t make enough at all. All four kids had to have formula.
Some women could bring their babies to work... some could go home for one ‘lunchtime’ feeding and have babies given juice and other doctor approved substitutes... then nurse in the evening and morning.
Nursing mothers can also give hints and assistance to mother’s struggling with nursing. There’s wouldn’t be a human race without mother’s being able to figure this one out...
If women who could nurse would nurse - there would be more formula available for women like your sister.

Hopefully this shortage will be solved before it’s a life or death situation. Does anyone have a ‘recipe’ for baby formula - a balanced baby ‘drink’ made from common products? What did women use in the 1940’s? I suspect there’s solutions out there.
