I thought this was the most important part of the article.
Kids are highly impressionable and are being told being gay or trans is cool.
Kids try things on, test things out and then move on when they mature - as a normal part of childhood. This is an entirely different matter with life-long consequences.
Schools are pushing this - and portraying transitioning as "normal" - if not desireable. Parents are either going along with this - or not being informed, as the schools would like.
That's the scary part of this, it's becoming entrenched in our culture that gender is either fluid or meaningless - our kids are being used as pawns to manipulate if not destroy their entire generation.
It is child abuse.

I think that what has happened is that troubled children are far more likely to claim they are transgender now. It is an accepted, approved, encouraged expression of distress.
An anxious, alienated, lonely child thirty years ago might smoke pot, write poetry, cut, go goth, binge and vomit...today she decides she is a boy and has a whole clique on line and in person doing the same thing and befriending her, and adults taking great interest in her and telling her how brave and special she is.
Most of them are straight guys who want to take showers in the girls locker room.

This shrink is warning AGAINST indoctrinating kids at a young age to think that the sex they were born with is a fluid thing and that they can be whatever sex they want to be. She is saying how BAD this indoctrination of them is and warning parents to not go along with the “being transgender is fine” propaganda being fed to their children via educational misinformation, the MSM, and High Tech “woke” messengers.
Read the article again; what this lady is saying is the exact opposite of what some of you are accusing her of. She is giving everyone a WARNING of what garbage is being fed to today’s children that could affect their psychological make-up and well-being for the rest of their lives in a very negative way. Gender dysphoria is a mental illness, and all the re-classification by whatever experts or expert organizations will not change that.
It is an illness produced by a lesion, perhaps a psychic lesion but nevertheless a lesion (or blockage or interference), in the reproductive system, which renders reproduction difficult or impossible.
A lesion of the central nervous system or the alimentary system, for example, which prevented or interfered with its function would similarly produce an illness.
Acquiescing to zeitgeist groupthink has lead many people in the medical fields to arrive at the absurd conclusion that an interference/blockage/lesion of the reproductive system is somehow perfectly normal and healthy, in fact a mere variation of the healthy function of the system.
Following such thinking, one could conclude that any illness which afflicts a large percentage, even a majority, of a population is not an illness at all but a variation of normal. This might include sickle cell disease; tuberculosis, certainly before the 20th century; and radiation sickness in certain populations.
Gender dysphoria should be recognized again as a mental illness. Those suffering from it must receive understanding and compassion, but its spread must not be encouraged.
Exactly. That is why the problem is so pervasive.
