Their attitude to being shut of from Russian gas was a shrug of indifference. Putin lost his chance. It’s warm weather now and by the fall Europe will have secured alternate supplies.
Except this war will be long over by the time they’ve even disconnected from Russia.....EU said not until 2029 at the earliest. So Putin will not have any issues supplying other countries other than Europe - in fact they’ve already lined up at his door. While the EU shudders fearing next winter.
That never happened until US stuck their nose into EU'S affairs. We all know that Victoria Nuland and others have their dibs on Ukraine and are warmongers......EU was handling Russia quite well until US Reps began strong-arming EU leaders....and even today they hate the Biden Administration for blackmailing them.

The outright US theft of $300 BILLION in Russian reserves held in the US along with US sanctions, which are not working (at least for the Russians) and causing us great harm, is also a case for Russia and other countries to seek economic independence from the west.
That is precisely what is happening while western economies are experiencing massive increases in inflation and debt and heading toward a cliff.
China, India, Indonesia, and many other countries are choosing economic sides now and it is not us!
