you are thinking in a rational strategic framework. Nothing I have seen so far suggests such thinking is applicable here.
we are baiting them to start world war 3. our rulers’ goals are not rational by our definition - the US does not have an interest in a world war over the former Ukraine SSR.
they need a major war to try to stay in power, even if it wrecks us.
anyone who knows history knows that when governments are faced with desperate situations at home (and ours certainly is), they often will start wars.
ours is doing this. russia has openly said this is being escalated to distract from the economic stuff happening here. anyone with a brain should know it, no matter what you think of russia.
at this point, i would regard the US as the single most dangerous great power in the world, because we no longer act rationally.
russia acts rationally, even if it is not popular - you can look at their actions, history, and concern, and see where decisions are coming from. at least, some people can. a fair amount of the population is quite nicely brainwashed now. mass formation in a matter of weeks, just look at FR.
china acts rationally.
the US? if I look at our objective national interests, I can only conclude that our government acts in what would be regarded as reckless and insane manners.
we are going to push until we start world war 3.
then we are going to push until russia using some kind of nuke.
then we are going to use a bigger one than they did, and push them to retaliate further.
Well it’s because someone inside the administration, several someone’s probably, want to make sure that we’re so locked into path towards war with Russia that they have to supply boots on the ground in Ukraine
Are we truly trying to provoke nuclear of biological war with Russia? not so much by the things we are doing but by the trumpeting of them.
They don't care. As long as there is money to be made, they don't care how many troops are killed or how many times we leave with our tails between our legs.

I don’t wish to sound like I’m preaching, but most of those who say such things are simply in denial of an obvious fact, which is that there are people in positions of power and influence in this country who despise it, and who will do anything they can to destroy it, even if by doing so they are putting their own lives at grave risk.
