Yep, the data shows the J&J recipients had lower mortality than mRNA or unvaccinated. That was mostly based on lower risk of fatal heart attacks. My theory is if the J&J doesn't kill you it makes you stronger.

Effectiveness against COVID was probably minimal. The mortality study looked at all causes including COVID, but obviously only short term mortality. In the long term only God knows.
