I think your arguments about omniscience, causality and free will are either puerile or sophistry.

God is omniscient (in regards to our universe, specifically) because He created the time/space continuum in which we reside, but He does not.

Being able to know, see or experience the entirety of the space/time continuum in gestalt while also maintaining focus on each and every component is how I imagine God’s omniscience to work, ymmv.

I think that if I were in God’s place with His Creator’s Perspective, I would be in total agreement with Him on free will.

Why does an omnipotent God allow evil to exist? Probably for the same reason a parent allows a child to explore and learn from their mistakes. It should be noted that God says He is keeping records and that there will be a reckoning. We’ve been warned repeatedly, so just because a patient God doesn’t zap us in our shoes should not be interpreted as “allowing” anything.

I prefer to be a forgiven sinner rather than a condemned one.

” It might even be inscrutable to created beings.”

I would agree with that, but so many “religious people” are sure they know what god is all about.

“Second, you never experienced the original creation before it was broken by disobedience, so what’s your basis of knowledge to quibble with whether God’s original creation was good or not?”

According to genesis, god said it was good.

“Third, since I’m not omniscient and do not and cannot understand the thoughts of God except for what he has “biblesplained”, I’m not going to argue with the Most High about whether His endgame was a worthy use of His power.”

Basically you’re saying you haven’t the slightest clue of what god is all about. Which a very sensible position to take - it’s what I am - an agnostic.

I tend to believe there most likely is a higher being but I have no clue as to his qualities. But we will all find out soon enough.

“The shallowness of your questions makes them seem insincere.”

No, I’m actually very sincere. I’m a simple guy asking simple question which none of the religionists seem capable of coming up with coherent answers. All I get is a lot handwaving and random, irrelevant quotes from the bible.

“Would you rather have a person that loves you by their own choice, or would you rather have a robot that you built that you programmed to love you?”

Would you build either purposefully or accidentally a robot that misbehaves and cause mayhem and you know they’re hurting your other innocent “children” and you let them do that when you could have stopped them?

It seems that’t what god has done and is doing. That’s hardly what I call love. Do you?

Held within The Pleasure Dome
Decreed by Kubla Khan
To taste my bitter triumph
As a mad immortal man
Nevermore shall I return
Escape these caves of ice
For I have dined on honey dew
And drunk the milk of Paradise

If god is omniscient there is no free will. It’s simple logic. Use that wonderful gift god gave you - your brain.

“Why does an omnipotent God allow evil to exist? Probably for the same reason a parent allows a child to explore and learn from their mistakes.”

So you as a parent have a kid who is totally irresponsible is constantly getting into trouble threatens people, do you knowingly go ahead and let him follow through on his threat to torture an innocent person?

If you are omniscient and all powerful wouldn’t you stop him?

Isn’t that what god is allowing to happen multiple times a day?
