A RUSSIAN TV programme showed a simulation of a nuclear strike on the UK, as tensions over an atomic war grew.

Moscow has repeatedly warned about the dire consequences Western countries could face if they continue to supply arms to Ukraine.

On Thursdays edition of Channel One's 60 Minutes programme, the chairman of the nationalist Rodina party, Aleksey Zhuravlyov, suggested Russia could launch a Sarmat missile attack on the UK.

Producers then cut to a map of Kaliningrad and seemed to suggest that missiles could be launched from the Russian enclave between Poland, Lithuania and the Baltic Sea.

The implication was that the nuclear weapons could reach Berlin in 106 seconds, Paris in 200 seconds and London in 202 seconds.

Don’t you have a dissertation to complete as someone pointed out, 15 years going on?

People that work with nukes don’t go around waving their jobs, education, and associations on internet chat sites.

For sure. The text within brackets is the quoted comment from the person to whom I’ve written a reply. Just so they know what I’m responding to.

I don’t think it’s face-saving so much as an attempt to get the West to accede to Putin’s demand du jour. It gives the Western pols on Putin’s payroll (Gerhard Schroeder is retired, but there are doubtless others hoping for a turn at the trough upon retirement) an excuse to give in to his demands other than the fact that they are in his pocket.

What is the state of Russia’s nukes? Are they maintained as well as their sunken flagship? The Kursk?

Don’t you have some phone calls to make as you’re threating me with prison for laughing at your stupidity?
