FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr shot down calls from left-wing activists for the government agency to block African-American tech philanthropist Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter, and criticized the “hard left” for believing “the free exchange of ideas is incompatible with the outcomes that they want to see at the ballot box.”
“Yesterday, the Open Markets Institute issued a release that called for the FCC, FTC, and DOJ to block Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter,” the FCC said in a statement released on Wednesday.
I also enjoy the fact that it was liberals buying Teslas that funded Elon’s purchase of Twitter
>> I experience a great deal of joy and all of this.
Indeed. But the 20% must consider the “Hard Left opposition” as an unambiguous declaration of hostilities.
Somebody’s going to get fired soon...
......................................
LOL!
I remember reading, a couple of years ago, about a high school student winning some kind of an award for top 'African American' student of the year, and he had a similar complexion (and birthplace) as Elon Musk. People got mad, and revoked his award. I think it was in Kansas (or some other mid-America State).
Unless it involves sale of a licensed property like a TV station, the FCC has no role in mergers or powers to block anything.
“African-American “
Brilliant, simply brilliant!
He’ll have to be fired ASAP. We simply CANNOT have government telling the left NO.
Hahahaha. I hadn’t thought of that. Even better.
Let’s Go Brendan!
FCC mostly regulates communications that utilize radio spectrum ... there are also some content rules for TV and radio broadcast stations ... FCC has minor oversight of cable and satellite TV and internet transmission ... but that’s it ...
By who?
Do you even know how FCC Commissioners are appointed and how long they serve as stipulated by law?
When are you going to stop posting far left nonsense?
So, two takeaways from that:
1) Again, the left resorts to trying to get an un-elected part of government to give them what they want rather than trying to get a law passed (which would require pubic debate), while they constantly prate about the “end of democracy”, and
2) They are ignorant of how the authority they appeal to actually works.
