Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi welcomed Chinese Minister of National Defense Wei Fenghe and the two men agreed on the strategic benefit of their alliance, Iranian state media reported according to The Associated Press. Wei Fenghe and I are of the same mind I figure the plan is to move jihadists eastwards from Syria.

Definitely allies of convenience. China doesn't like Muslims, as evidenced by its treatment of the Uyghers. And I think it would wet itself with delight if it could stand aside while the Europe/USA block and Russia had a serious atomic fight, leaving resource rich, population poor Siberia open to reconquest, and removing all serious rivalries to its hegemony.
Unless Iran envisions a planet run by the Chinese Communist Party, they might ultimately find that they have divergent long-term interests particularly in the religion department.

One of the reasons Hitler failed to win in Russia was his allies didn’t keep him informed of their plans. The Axis powers regularly screwed each other up. The Japanese didn’t tell anyone about the planned attack on Pearl Harbor. Mussolini invaded Greece and failed which caused Hitler to delay Barbarossa. Mussolini attacked in Africa also without warning Hitler. That’s because they never trusted each other, and they never worked together except after it was too late to accomplish their goals. That’s the problem with evil empires. They just use one another when convenient. Russia, Iran and China make Hitler, Tojo and Mussolini look like loving triplets who have their own singing group.
CCP loves Muslims and have been allies of PLO since the 70’s at least and every Islamist regime. Pakistan has been their close ally and they gave Pakis the bomb, essentially.
They don’t like East Turkestanis because they rebelled against them.

Iran is a Shiite Theocracy. Over 90% of Muslims in Red China are Sunni. Iran cares more about getting nukes and its war with he US than a few thousand Shia Tajiks in Chinese-occupied East Turkestan.
