Pretty much. A lot of twitter is news articles that get posted and then people reply/comment to them.

FR is basically twitter without the character limit, modern styling, repost(retweet to your followers), follow and like button.

Also, you don’t have to chose a subject category and with news articles, you don’t have to fill in all the details because twitter, like any modern platform, pulls that in, along with one representative image, via the oembed protocol.

Same basic concept though. People post something and others reply to that and/or reply to other replies.

One big difference is that on twitter, everyone gets a home page and only see posts of people they follow. If you’re not following anyone, you’ll see some misc trending topics.
