Civilian casualties are tragic and happen in every war. The sooner Ukraine decides it wants peace and is willing to negotiate, the fewer deaths there will be. Funny how nobody is talking about that. At this point Crimea and the Donbass are a done deal, like it or not. Further fighting isn’t going to change that, so what exactly is the point of continuing it, other than they expect to draw NATO into this mess.

Hi Jim. I want the best part of everything you own. I’m not going to pay for it, I just want to take it from you. If you fight back then I’m afraid things will get ugly.

Now, why don’t you negotiate with me about when you’re going to give me everything I want? I’d like to have this done by Monday or Tuesday but I’m open to negotiating with you over this.

I mean it’s your choice if you want to go to war.
