We supplied the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan fighting the Russian invaders in the 1980s. Did that start WW3?
*Why should America make Russians bleed?* Think Reagan-Afghanistan/contras.
They are expansionist. Think Angola. Central America. Afghanistan had no strategic value unless their bigger aims involved expanding to the Indian Ocean. Economic costs go with human costs.
Good grief, you're blind to what our foreign policy has been toward Russia and how it lead this war.
We fomented a revolution in Ukraine in 2014, caused an eight-year civil war in Donbass, trained and funded neo-Nazi Ukrainian nationalists that went on persecute the Russian population. Ukraine signed the Minsk Agreement in 2015 that would have brought peace to the region and, with our approval, refused to abide by it.
We promised the Russians no eastward expansion of NATO in the early 1990s. Even Biden warned in 1997 the Russians wouldn't tolerate an eastward expansion of NATO. Then, we've teased NATO membership in Ukraine while arming it with offensive weapons and while funding 29 biolabs with deadly pathogens in them.
There is NO chance that we tolerate Russia or China aligned with Mexico, arming it and operating biolabs with deadly pathogens in them.
Russia, in fact, in December, made their security concerns public and sought to negotiate with Biden regime before this war started. If we had promised no NATO membership for Ukraine and Ukraine agreed to implement the Minsk Agreement, this war would not have happened. Instead, we teased NATO membership for Ukraine and let Zelensky express a desire for Ukraine to obtain nuclear weapons. THE BIDEN REGIME WANTED THIS WAR TO OCCUR.
We've implemented a highly aggressive anti-Russian policy. Why? Because globalists hate nationalists that are a hinderance to their agenda (Trump, Orban, Le Pen as well as Putin).
We made Russia our enemy unnecessarily and have pushed into an alliance with China. It's our provocation that is responsible for us being on the verge of WWIII.
Coons stood there and let his wife and teenage daughter be molested by Biden and all he did was smile about it.
From the article:
Neocons and war hawks are taking the position that the visible defeat of the Russian army and its expulsion from Ukraine, and Putin’s humiliation and ouster, must be America’s goals. And these goals should be nonnegotiable. Failure to achieve these ends, it is said, would amount to a defeat for NATO and the United States.
***I’m not a neocon, I’m a paleocon with an emBASEee strategee approach to AmericaFirst foreign relations.
I’m not “taking the position that the visible defeat of the Russian army and its expulsion from Ukraine, and Putin’s humiliation and ouster, must be America’s goals. And these goals should be nonnegotiable.” My position is that we ALREADY signed up for “respecting” Ukraine’s borders and sovereignty in the 1994 Budapest Accession to the ratified UN Treaty on Nuclear Nonproliferation. Russia and Ukraine signed it as well. But Russia violated it twice by invading, going after the oil & gas reserves discovered. The whole thing can be accomplished without humiliation and ouster.
I’m not saying “Failure to achieve these ends, it is said, would amount to a defeat for NATO and the United States.” Because NATO was not a signatory to the Budapest Accession. It would be a failure of the whole world to not get nuclear nonproliferation right.
Europe is too important for us to walk away, and we have never lost a war in Europe. I also reject the notion that weapons deliveries are always followed by US troops. I would add that right now as we gradually escalate more and more US credibility is on the line, so if Ukraine is defeated, Russia might also gain a much weaker NATO.
We see your point but it is old history. When the war expands now it will not be in Europe. It will be within the borders of the US.
Your mistaken calculation could cost you your very life. It’s not a video game and we longer are fighting to the last Ukranian. Nearly sanctioned into extinction, Russia has little to lose if Dementia Joe steps on the gas.
An endless proxy war is what official Washington and Pentagonia desire. Many opportunities for profits, promotions, decorations. Best of all it will require a US ‘defensive’ buildup in Central Europe and with enough provocations a new Cold War. A side benefit f heavy US presence in Central Europe will be a color coded fake revolution to overthrow Victor Orban, who is the next designated Hitler.
There is or will be no political resistance to anything you describe.
i figure we or the brits either sank or helped sink the moskva. there was background press pieces about the ship on multiple wires the day preceding the sinking. perfect timing
now sabotage in russia, US?
no idea who is killing russian execs and families. zero context on who those people are or to whom they are a target.
you sum it up nicely. US posture from the start has been aggressive and belligerent. not a single call for talks. we aren’t even talking to russia apparently, and haven’t been for months. we stole their foreign reserves. we are at war, and both sides are trying to keep it contained.
now strategic buildings are burning in russia. their ship in the black sea was sunk by who knows who, us, the brits, ? we are pushing them to respond, and then to be able to claim we were attacked.
putin has correctly pointed out that the west wants a war to distract from impending economic issues - this trick is as old as recorded history and he is doubtless correct. it must be interesting to be in a proxy war with a country that really wants you to give them a pretext to escalate beyond all reason.
I will add more
3 great powers. china, russia, US.
china has consistent foreign policy advancing their interests.
russia does too. this ukraine stuff was predicted decades ago quite explicitly as a logical outcome of pushing nato into ukraine.
the US has ceased to act in a manner consistent with its apparent national interests. actively gutting energy production ability. screwing up afghanistan beyond any reason - just leaving bagram before kabul was a clearly visible mistake, intentional. now pushing for ever greater war against a nuclear power.
the US is the party acting irrationally here. we are acting like we want a world war. I fear we are going to get it, and we are going to get wrecked. maybe everyone will.
Agreed. And why is the Obama/Biden regime pushing the US towards World War III? For the same reason they have opened our borders to millions of illegals and used Covid as a means to further the Great Reset.
All this and more are but tools to weaken America and push our society to the brink of collapse.
