Congress never gave the CDC the authority, they simply assumed it and that is why they lost.

Exactly. If they were so confident that masking was great and loved, they have both houses in the presidency right now and they could simply passing legislation that gives the CDC authority to do so. However, we know they will never do that because that would be even more disastrous for them and they’re 16% congressional approval rating or 30-40% presidential approval rating
