Anyone who wants to drop $100K on a Tesla, or a electric Hummer, or a F150 Lightning doesn't have to worry about the cost vs gas.
Electric vehicles have advantages and disadvantages when compared to an ICE vehicle.
Performance and insane acceleration are electric vehicle advantages over almost any ICE vehicle.
Range and road trips are disadvantages over ICE vehicles.
I think that electric vehicles have reached the "knee point" in the curve where they are practical enough for widespread adoption, and the market agrees with me.
I however, won't own one until I'm forced to. But I do understand anyone who does own one.
There are Chinese models closely matching Tesla S in performance but priced at around $30k. They are perfectly worth it unless you drive long distances.
Yeah, I agree. I really wouldn't mind owning one, I live in a city, and it would work out well for 99% of our use. But I still like having a gas engine vehicle for the occasional long trip.
Insane acceleration is not a benefit taking into the fact most of these ev owners are horrible drivers and need licenses revoked.
There are many scenarios I can think of that make owning an EV exclusively impractical......most of them emergency related.
Not to mention environmental concerns ironically
