I have a co-worker whose face I haven’t seen since March 2020. They were wearing N95s as soon as they could find them. Now that probably 95% of the people aren’t wearing masks in may area, they have added a blue surgical mask over the N95.
Even when we had less than a 1% positivity rate in summer 2021, they still double masked. If the topic came up it it was always just a it to soon, gotta wait to see if they cases decrease more, etc.
The “little while longer” is, IMHO, anywhere from 1.5-2 years for many of these people, assuming say less ~12 cases a month. In realty it is likely another 4-5 or so years they will mask up.
I almost pity someone whose life is so dominated by fear, that they live like that, in that kind of self-imposed bondage.
