Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) told activists on Wednesday that President Biden and his senior advisers are warming up to the idea of forgiving student debt, insisting they are closer to pulling the trigger “than ever before.”

This has got to end......
He did that later, but I was too disgusted with him to ask if he wasn’t going to pay that back either. Then my SIL went and got her fourth degree, also with student loans. My BIL (in his 50s) hasn’t had a steady job in fifteen years and my SIL (in her 40s) has never worked a regular job in her life. My in-laws have been covering them for the last 15 years and can’t admit they are enabling the madness.
So what do Republicans think is going to happen as we get nearer to the midterms? The Democrats are going to have to buy votes so to beat them for sure the Republicans need to buy the votes first. Why can’t Republicans do something like that and say hey let’s forgive student loan debt and follow that up with no more student loans. That will force the cost of college back down and take a whole lot of money from college educated white folks who mostly vote Democrat. Why not go ahead and push now for a stimulus package to help Americans being harmed by inflation. If only senior citizens on social security that would be something. How about food stamps for people on social security or disability? How about we reform the bankruptcy bill Joe biden’s bankruptcy bill so that middle-class Americans can take bankruptcy instead of having to go into chapter 13. There are all kinds of things that Republicans could do if they actually gave a crap about the rest of America.
if they do, there’s no point in paying taxes after that
