Joe Biden's transportation secretary, Pete Buttigieg, has a smarmy, smiling message for all of us pudknocker Americans who don't quite buy into the 'going green' agenda of the Bidenites:

It's an astonishingly ignorant and charlatan-like statement.
Buttigieg argues that domestically produced green energy is somehow not subject to global price swings, while only oil and natural gas somehow are.
How do we unpack this?
To start, he apparently has never heard of all the gas and coal it takes to fire up all those electrical servicing stations, so 'bzzzt!, wrong, Pete!' Electrical charging stations and virtually all green energy 'alternatives' are highly dependent on oil and gas prices, as well as other global commodity prices such as lithium, cobalt, and other rare earth minerals well ensconced in the hands of players like China.

Can someone in a press conference ask that smug SOB where the “clean energy” to power those electric vehicles is supposed to come from. If he says wind and solar, point to the rolling brownouts last year in TX that were caused because they relied on solar and wind to generate power. What happens when tens of thousands of people “plug in” to recharge their 1000lb batteries each night? This guy’s is a clown who is way over his head in a job he has no clue how to manage.

I suspect that part of the Ukrainian debacle has to do with the Democrats desire to raise fuel prices without taking the blame.

It's not a green energy vs fossil fuel argument. It's a personal independence vs depending on government policies argument.
I think fossil fuels are way more efficient than solar. But I put solar on my house because I control it, unlike natural gas and the power from the utility. It produced 56% of all the power I consumed since I installed it, even though my house is all-electric. The costs of the 44% of power I purchased from my utility are still subject to gubment bureaucrats (both federal and local). But at least the other half isn't.
what about electricity prices? Will that stay the same if we all get electric cars?
