I lived in Germany for a year. Just about all the stereotypes are true, if not exactly in the way they are usually meant. Assuming the Germans have collectively decided to do something, they'll do it, and what is publicly expressed as representing "good order" will be internalized in almost all Germans. It's really rather amazing to see how it works up close.
I know how they are. I lived there twice and grew up with the language…..my family is part German. They’ve always had a lot of political naïveté and idealism. I question whether they are capable of growing up and fielding a good military. The pendulum has swung all the way from militarism to pacifism and stuck there. I also doubt they can be realistic, stop worshipping Gaia and adopt a sensible energy policy.
