GOP Has Unprecedented Number Of Minorities And Women Running For Congress In 2022, Liberal Narrative Debunked

The Washington Times reported on Monday that a “record number of Black Republicans are running for Congress this year,” a trend that accelerated when the alleged racist-in-chief, Donald Trump, expanded the GOP’s conservative base in 2016.

According to the National Republican Congressional Committee, 81 black Americans are running as Republicans in 72 congressional districts this year.

That’s triple from just two years ago.

Committee spokesman Mike McAdams told the Times the number is “a record in the modern era” of the GOP.

Florida Rep. Byron Donalds, one of three black Republicans now in Congress, offered a simple explanation.

More black people are running as Republicans because they see more black Republicans in office.

“They see me. They see [Rep.] Burgess [Owens of Utah]. They saw [former Rep. Allen West of Florida]. They saw [former Rep. Mia Love of Utah]. They see [current Virginia Lt. Gov.] Winsome Sears. They see [current North Carolina Lt. Gov.] Mark Robinson. And what they say is, ‘You know what? Maybe I should step up, too,’” Donalds said.

The freshman lawmaker noted that he and other black officials “break the narrative that Black people are duty-bound to vote for Democrats,” the Times reported.

Said Donalds, “They’re seeing the awful things that Democratic policies have brought to their communities, and they’re just not taking it anymore. They’re looking for a new way.

And so they’re turning to Republicans because we have the answers.”

The GOP lineup includes people like Herschel Walker, a Heisman Trophy winner and former NFL star running for a Senate seat in his native Georgia, and John James, a West Point grad and businessman who ran twice for the Senate in Michigan and is now taking a crack at a House district in Detroit.

I believe this is probably correct - when you feel like you are "all alone" and subject to intense ridicule that you will have to endure all alone, you are less likely to come out in the open. There is a feeling of strength and safety in numbers...and we know that black Republicans are subjected to some of the most hateful ridicule from the Left and the media merely for daring to think differently than they are "supposed to."

Now, they should only be nominated if they are truly the best candidates and best for the job - but we have probably been missing out on at least some of the best candidates because they were literally afraid to step out and put themselves up for consideration.

Yeah but have any of them introduced plans to reduce the size of the federal gov't, restore Constitutional law, and restrict legal immigration and end illegal immigration?

If not, then it's just more of the same old same old.

On the other hand, I recently saw an article on FR where RAT liberals living in and crapping on Red States were running as Republicans because if the voters knew what filth they were, they’d never get elected.

Democrats don’t consider them minorities if they’re not Democrats.

Doesn’t matter. They aren’t Soldiers of the Revolution, and the issue is always the revolution.

Well, they’re all Uncle Toms and race traitors obviously. That well-known expert on blackness, Uncle Touchy, said that if you don’t vote full-leftard you ain’t black!

The Lt gov of NC is pretty great out of the gate. That state is almost full on dem thesecdays. Its actually cool to watch the eyes open.
But you are right to be skeptical. I thought the same thing.
If your only qualification is the color of your skin or you God given sex... we are in trouble. No conservative principles.

Why does this matter? Is the GOP now a quota system?

The DemocRATS will say they aren’t “real women.” Then they will refuse to define what a woman is.

ExZACTLY! The GOP is backing all manner of minorities to try to enhance their “big tent” image. Hell with that! If they aren’t actually conservatives, and courageous defenders of the Constitution then I, for one, don’t really want them in the tent. The Republican party should be marketing itself as the alternative to the affirmative action, black lives matter, birthing-person amnesty prone ding-bats on the left.

It matters because we can finally focus on the content of our character instead of party that only represents one race.

It’s also because Trump has been turning the Republicans away from open borders, perpetual war, country club corporate shills aka RINOs and toward candidates who are for fair trade, bringing manufacturing back, not getting involved in foreign wars of choice and representing working and middle class Americans. Most Blacks are working or middle class. They saw how much they benefited from Trump’s policies. The see how bad things are for them now. The race hustling poverty pimps are starting to lose their iron grip.
