How prepared is the Warsaw Pact? NATO, as you well know, was formed as a purely DEFENSIVE alliance to counter the Soviet Union led alliance, soon to be known as the Warsaw Pact. Where in the NATO charter does it outline the OFFENSIVE actions taking place to support a non member country? Before the Warsaw Pact fell there was an assumed and accepted military parity, a balance of power that kept the peace in Europe. Since the Warsaw Pact’s demise Russia has been in head long retreat as a major military power on the European continent. From that balance of power in 1985 take the aggregate force of the new virulently anti Russian (70 years worth of reasons why) ex Warsaw Pact members’ economic and military might and change their allegiance, what happens to the peace keeping balance of power? With Ukraine and Finland now you add their might and park the entire 32 nation NATO behemoth on Russia’s border, 300 miles from Moscow and you don’t see why Russia is freaking out? Especially since NATO is a now self proclaimed mortal enemy of your country? Remember, this is an aggressive alliance that has just unilaterally chucked the balance of power that has kept the peace. NATO is NOT unprepared for its original and only intended purpose, to DEFEND member nations when they are attacked. NATO is unprepared for what most clamor for here, dragging Putin out of his spider hole in Moscow.
You make some very good points but I look at them militarily from all aspects. They are not what they used to be culturally and have become a metrosexual PC/Woke polyglot. There is also a lack of military preparedness which Trump aptly pointed out. Not all of the countries are like this but enough them are now and it is a good cause to be concerned.
