Our military is set up differently, because we delegate. In our military the subordinate officers know the mission; even the NCOs know it. That way, the mission can still proceed even if senior officers can no longer command. In our military, the mission is what counts. The Russian military is not set up that way. The Russian military is very much a “Just do what I say!” or “Follow me!” echelon, such that if the head is taken out, the body has no idea what to do, and usually panics, and a rout ensues.
The Soviets had a brigade in Cuba until @1991.

Looking at actual video’s on news, I see building after building in Ukraine turned to rubble, while all buildings in Russia not even had glass windows shattered. If this war continues for another 10 days, Ukraine will look like Germany during WWII.
Actually, Ukraine looks like Russia during WWII. The Ukrainians used their relatively expansive territory to lure in the relatively small Russian army, and then savaged Russian supply units with the help of Territorial Defense (National Guard) troops and friendly townspeople and villages, who helped feed and hide them, cached their weapons and ammo and provided intel on enemy movements.

You should post sources, fact is Ukraine tore up the 2014 Minsk Agreements, the basis for Putin’s moves. Zelensky and the Ukrainian government is corrupted beyond all belief. Both sides deserve NO support.
Soros, Zelensky, the Demoncrats are all calling for war, never heard a call for negotiations yet. Careful who you back, there are no white hats in this regional conflict. Ukraine is losing, badly, and their calls for no fly zones, weapons, aircraft illustrate their desperation….desperate for world war.

Well, I am none of the above. Yet, I am pulling for Ukraine because it was the victim of an unprovoked attack by the neighborhood bully, and it is fighting back, against all the odds.

Officers between the NCOs and generals are supposed to lead squads and companies. Generals are supposed to direct units, make sure logistics are running, and make tactical and strategic decisions. Instead Russian generals are running motorized and infantry combat directly. If generals are doing a lieutenants job, that means he lieutenants can't do their jobs.
This makes generals or the officers with a crowd milling around them primary targets.
