Ukraine is "humiliating" Russia on the battlefield and "wiping the floor with them in terms of world opinion", says a UK military expert.
Prof Michael Clarke, former director of the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) think tank, says: "The Russians are making almost every tactical mistake it is possible to make."
Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Today programme, he explains: "They [Russian troops] look like forces that were completely unprepared, that hadn’t thought through what a major campaign might look like.
"The Ukrainians are stalling the Russian advance in all areas and even operating now quite effective counter attacks. The Russians are losing a lot of equipment and troops."

Because both are true and Russia can still win.
For Ukraine to ‘win’ all it need do is avoid losing. So far, Ukraine has been successful.
And when the media tells you to get vexed and wear a mask I bet you’ll be first in line to comply.
I’ve watched chess matches that started that way.
Then why are they begging for help?
Once combat begins you can go through a lout of ammunition, rocket, anti-tank weapons and so on.
A small nation like the Ukraine will never have enough supplies to last for very long. They need to replace what they have lost and used.
Good. It’s time to dismantle NATO and stop pumping money and weapons into Ukraine. I wonder who two conflicting points of view are living in the same head at the same time.

I believe there’s little doubt that Putin surrounded himself with “Yes Men” who were afraid to tell him the honest truth of Russia’s military capabilities. They blew smoke up his ass while also convincing Putin that military objectives could be met with minimal destruction and civilian casualties. So the war was fought with this strategy in mind.
It bears to point out, Russia has an almost unlimited supply of artillery shells and bombs as well as a military doctrine that calls for tactical nuke usage in a written policy known as “escalate to de-escalate”.
I’ve found it difficult to learn what Ukrainian losses are. For one, only the Russian losses are being reported. For another, Russian enlisted troops have far better cellphone discipline. NCOs tend to destroy cellphones if their troops are caught using them. So we’re not getting a lot of footage of destroyed Ukrainian equipment. Add to this, Russians have been banned from using many popular social media sites where this info is disseminated.
A neocon podcast I listen to (despite being a neocon podcast) has estimated Ukrainian tank losses to be equal to that of Russia’s. We also know that Mariupol has been flattened, Chernihiv and Kharkiv continue to be targeted with bombs and long-range artillery, and now Lviv is being hit with cruise missiles.
So who the hell really knows anything? The Russians might not be winning, not in the way they wanted to, but they don’t appear to be losing either.
Didn’t a FReeper already debunk your “legally a part of Russia” assertion?
All of the items you mentioned can be true at the same time.
I don’t understand. The Russians ran out of gas, ammo and food 10 days ago. All their generals have been killed and their troops were either all purged or have deserted back to their mothers last week. Those must be fake pictures, probably from the Russian Highway of Death running from the border back to Moscow. Have the Ukrainian super heroes located Putin’s spider hole yet? I can’t wait to see him dragged out of it. I haven’t seen “The Five” today, maybe reports will be that Putin has already been dragged out. Russia should surrender to Winston Zelenskyy any hour now.
So, no need to help Ukraine.
It is mindboggling that all the snarky “then why do they need help” FReepers don’t grasp the concept of resupply. It doesn’t say much for their IQ.
The point is that they are moving forward on every axis of advance and not a single serious attack was repelled. Counter-attacks Ukraine declares are phony, taking place in media but not in real life. They lost air capabilities, as proven by that convoy sitting off Kiev unmolested.
LDNR reports 21,000 Ukrainian casualties on their front alone, which seems high but not impossible given the concentration of the UAF in their encirclement.
and wi any luck, there won’t be enough officers and NCOs survive to carry the lessons learned back wi them...
Bad analogy; Ukraine ain't the Soviet Union with loads of manpower and space to trade, and the West's resolve is more akin to 1939 and not 1943. About the only thing turning out to be even remotely similar is the modern "leaders" abilities to screw things up which will most likely lead us into a world wide conflict no one wants to be in.
I’d put my, soon to be worth less, money on giving the globalist a reason to stop the use of the American dollar as the reserve currency of the world and to move the world away from petrol dollars and open up other currencies (yuans anyone) as legal tender for pricing oil. The death of the American dollar. President Xi is getting a great return on his investment from Biden.
The original First World/Second World/Third World classification had the Western advanced capitalist countries as the First World and the Communist countries as the Second World. Now the only one which ever gets mentioned is the Third World, the less-developed countries.
then why is putin begging Syria and the Chechens for fighters...???
It’s disgusting. Eighty years ago their grandparents saved the world from evil. Now they suffer a similar evil from the mind of a spoiled, insulated megalomaniac.
