You do realize almost your whole post is leftist revisionist nonsense?

Truman dropped the bomb to avoid Operation Olympic and the projected 1 million US casualties by convincing the Japanese we would simply kill them like rats. And even then an attempted coup took place to try to stop broadcast of the Emperor's surrender announcement.

The Japanese would have fought for every inch of Japan with bamboo spears and explosives strapped to their backs if necessary.

No, no, no. Your idiotic nonsense shows you don't research actual history, and not what the brainwashing trolls would have you believe. The Japanese already figured that they could take more war damage from the USA, and were ready to fight to the last person. Cities across Japan had been heavily destroyed by conventional means, fire-bombing whole cities was more effective than the nukes which were in short supply. What changed the minds of Japanese leaders was the Russians threatening invasion, the Russians had moved much military armaments at the 38th Parallel and were poised to strike, waiting for an agreement with Truman to expire before invading. Truman dropped the bomb the day before Russia was to invade. Only then did the Japanese decide to agree to the Potsdam Declaration, and accepted it because of the Russian invasion and the 2nd bomb. The atomic bombs stalled the Russian invasion. You need to read the history from all perspectives, including Japanese and Russian accounts. The Japanese would rather live under democratic USA rule than become communist servants under the Russians. My father was a military officer in charge of thousands of Japanese in Tokyo as part of the occupation forces immediately after the surrender, and knew the Japanese mentality at the time - they fully accepted USA rule rather than Soviet rule.
