The Law of Unintended Consequences. Say goodbye to the dollar as the world”s reserve currency. The US will become Argentina.

I'll sign on to that. But you heard Grahamnesty this morning. He wants to fight the Russians until the last Ukrainian and Putin must go.

I wonder if anyone has come to grips with the fact that we are in a new Cold War. How can that be walked back politically and economically? And there is the issue of a broken, destroyed Ukraine with millions of Ukrainian refugees scattered throughout Europe and the rest of the world. A new Marshall Plan? Who is going to pay for it. I doubt Russia believes in the Pottery Barn Rule, you broke it, you pay for it.

Right. How many of our politicians and their children have profited from Ukraine? I can only imagine how the US military-industrial complex will feed off the carcass of Ukraine.

Not likely anytime soon, it takes a "special" set of circumstances for Hyper-inflation to take hold. Great loss of trust in the G'ment, and that is not in the cards anytime soon.

You overestimate how much trust the people have in the USG, especially one led by Biden and Harris. All of our institutions were damaged by the Russia hoax. Unpunished election fraud including a stolen Presidential election have caused over one-half of the public to believe that we have an illegitimate President in the WH. And the unfair treatment of the J6 political prisoners by DOJ and Congress will become more apparent. And we have had over 2 million illegal aliens come across our open southern border in the past year. They will compete against Americans and legal residents for jobs and benefits.

The increasing pressure of rising inflation affecting not only gas and food, but all goods and services, will cause dissatisfaction and possible civil disorder depending on how long it continues. Savings and IRA's are being affected, which especially hurts retirees.

What caused inflation in the Weimar Republic? In order to pay the striking workers the government simply printed more money. This flood of money led to hyperinflation as the more money was printed, the more prices rose. Prices ran out of control, for example a loaf of bread, which cost 250 marks in January 1923, had risen to 200,000 million marks in November 1923.

So okay, I got something very worrisome to discuss.

It’s not the war in Russia. It’s not the cost of gas.

Not that these things are not important but I now ask.....

....WHAT THE HELL IS THE DEAL WITH CAT FOOD?

Now for four weeks in a row there’s few cans on the shelf and I must buy real expensive stuff in envelope packets.

Who is eating all the cat food?

I put up a post on Facebook and people from all over the country are saying the same.....extreme shortage of cat food from Florida to Maine.

Are people now eating the cat food?

RE: Cat-food. Same problem here. I’m in N. California. For a long time all they had was ‘pate’ style cat-foods...my cats hate pate ‘- they prefer the bits and the shreds. I buy Friskees but was forced for lack of the foods they like to buy a more expensive brand. I have no idea what is causing the shortage except it’s almost certainly not people eating it. Here the shortage is mainly the non pate style Friskees.

See, I am not crazy.

My cats don’t like the pate either and cats are notorious of turning up noses at strange food.

My cats like canned food with meat and a gravy type sauce.

WHERE IS ALL THE CAT FOOD?

What caused inflation in the Weimar Republic?

You cannot find the type of issues that the Weimar Republic experienced anywhere in the world today. Not even Venezuela, possibly Zimbabwe, but who talks about Zimbabe?

Thanks very much. THey already have maximum media. I don't think they could buy too much else legally. And, if its done illegally there will be 10X the people looking for it.

What worries me is what they are doing now that we don't know about, the rest we have been through.

I get worried when politics starts transitioning into capitalism. It never seems to work too well. If possible the two should always be apart from one another. One of the problems with capitalism now is govt. intervention, more never seems to work.

The problems in Ukraine are exactly why we need to stay out. The only reason anyone from the U.S. is interested is because Ukraine was so corrupt. It was a huge laundry.
So, basically, we have a huge gas station:Russia; next to a huge Laundry:Ukraine. Will the problems be solved amicably? Not likely.
