my advice is to shop the sales...every store will have a loss leader...BUY as much as you can afford and store for your needs.....
one week it might be pasta, the next cereal, etc.....BUY ON SALE....
also, stretch your meals....here in this house we're used to alot of meat....
so I've started stretching our meat thru more than one meal....potroasts, spaghetti sauce, steak, etc...
That's what I do. I also (typically) don't buy anything I don't have a coupon for. Even that's getting harder to do since the three grocery stores near me have really cut back on the coupons.
This afternoon I'll be at my GF's home and she lives near an Amazon Fresh store. They have Progresso Soups (my favorite) for 50 cents a can LESS than anywhere else I can find it.
$1.58/can at Amazon fresh, minimum $2.09 - $2.99 everywhere else.
Yesterday the oatmeal I was used to buying at $1.99 was over $4.
