The consternation over the Parental Rights in Education bill, passed by the legislature in Florida, continues apace. As RedState reported, the falsehoods being perpetrated about the bill are mind-numbing, including the idea that it bans saying the word “gay,” when that term is not even mentioned in the text.
Of course, because major corporations think being woke is profitable, Disney decided to jump into the fray, denouncing the legislation. Gov. Ron DeSantis responded by essentially telling them to go jump in a lake. Now, Disney Corp. has retaliated by pausing all political donations, of which about 80 percent in Florida supposedly went to Republicans.
That the false “Don’t Say Gay” moniker continues to be used by the mainstream media as a factual label in regards to this bill is an astonishing breach of journalistic ethics, but I digress. Water is indeed wet.
As to Disney, I think they’ve severely miscalculated here. There was no widespread backlash regarding this bill among its employees. That was a completely manufactured narrative pushed mainly by CNN, which corroborated its claim of a supposed outcry by citing two social media posts. Further, the bill does not even do what its most vocal opponents claim. Disney could have easily remained neutral, pointed out what the bill actually says, and kept its relationship with Florida Republicans intact.

Shouldn’t, but will. Just like with the NFL.
“Hey pervert, you just got caught exposing little kids to gay pornography...what are you gonna do next?”
“I’m going to Disneyworld!”
The Wonderful World of Horror.
GRDS should say “gay” just to prove them wrong.
*** Now, Disney Corp. has retaliated by pausing all political donations, of which about 80 percent in Florida supposedly went to Republicans.***
Does anyone really believe that Disney Corp channels 80% of its donations towards Republicans running for office in Florida?
my daughter worked for Disney World during college….had trouble getting a date most of the guys working there were gay…
Very right-wing here. A couple months ago, my daughter and her fiancee invited me to go to the Epcot world food and 50th anniversary celebration. Canada (cheddar cheese and bacon soup!!!!) and Ireland (sausage and potatoes!!!!) were my favorite foods yum. Anyway, excluding an occasional homo couple holding hands, the freak with the rainbow hair, it was nice. It was the 50th anniversary and walking out, the ball had an AMAZING 5min light show with music. The ball used to have the lights shined AT it, now the lights are IN it. Very amazing light show! And I hate Disney.
What a shame. This industry could be so good for our great state of FL. But what to do....
I have never been to Disney World, nor have I had the desire to go!
That would be Lake Buena Vista.
The Cult of Disney among its followers is more powerful than voodoo in Haiti. The idea that the Fellowship of the Mouse could possibly have strayed from its Norman Rockwell-esque roots is still too much for them to consider as a possibility. It is rather telling about the nature of the theme park industry that the only park in central FL to ever go belly up was The Holy Land Experience, the one place Christians could feel at home.
(To be fair, across the street from the Disney Complex is Basilica of Mary, Queen of the Universe, the closest thing to a Christian tourist spot among the theme parks.)
Shouldn’t he tell them to go swim in the everglades and feed the gators? That’s much better than just telling them to jump in a lake.
There are no gay children. There is no gay gene. Will someone please say that?
Disney, or any other corporation, doesn’t give money to local politicians out of the goodness of their heart. They want something in return. They are buying influence. Cutting off this flow of money will be returned with ill will from those they were buying off.
I’m actually glad that see this influence money taken out of circulation.
If you go to the Politico article that is referenced, it lists only 38.8% going to Republican coffers. Where did Politico come up with that extra 41%? Surely they would have listed it if it were true.
Walt Disney would be rolling over in his grave.
Any Republican patronizing anything Disney is advancing the LGBT agenda.
No problem, our lakes have lots of hungry gators.
Anyone know how much tax Disney pays to Florida? I’m sure it’s not enough.
I will never go back to Disney World even if you paid me.
I do believe that some people have mental conditions usually from abuse which might cause them to be attracted to the opposite sex, I also believe a very small percentage might be born gay or be hermaphroditic, but the VAST MAJORITY of those today who claim to be “gay” or whatever vowel, have been brainwashed by “woke” culture to equating that ID as “loving everyone”, and to ID as something else like simply hetro normative, is in effect to ID everyone else as not normal or in effect defective, so in “woke” 2022 they just mostly self ID as poly meaning they “love everyone” not that they are actually looking at the asshole of some other guy in a sexual way.
