EVs make sense only if gas is unavailable but electricity is such as from solar cells. Maybe a dystopian America some day soon, maybe.

As a very conservative Tesla driver, the cost of charging at home is a fraction of the cost and time than even when gas prices were $2.00. I have the performance of a very expensive sports car at the price of a well equipped Acura. It is expensive to charge at the super charger but how often do you drive over 300 miles in a day? I plug it in every night and it charges at about 44 miles per hours of charge while I sleep. It takes less than 5 seconds to plug and unplug. Also I currently pay zero in state and federal gas tax.

Road trips are where the convenience breaks down. We still have a gas SUV for that.
