There is a difference between the American Media using this incident hoping to distract the populace from Biden’s terrible polls, and this war actually being waged in order to save Biden from his polls.
The two are not the same, the former being true doesn’t necessarily imply the latter is true. Vladimir Putin is not doing this because Biden needs help in the polls.
This is just ignorant. We barely buy any oil from Russia -- certainly not enough to have made Russia "filthy rich". The real culprits in terms of making Russia rich would be those European nations -- Germany in particular -- who made themselves dependent on Russian energy and provided them far more money.
Fair to say that Biden screwed over all of us. But it's just bombast to claim that his decisions on U.S. drilling funded this invasion.

Not really a wag the dog, Biden didn't instigate this. But given that fact that Biden, like Obama, wants higher oil prices in the mistaken opinion that they make windmills and Chinese solar cells more attractive, and is making full use of this to attempt to deflect blame for prices at the pump.
