I note from one of the comments an item that relates to our concerns on FR threads about repairs that did not go far enough. One of the posters says that Gate repairs are planned (one at a time due to environmental concerns for water temperatures) so that future failure we were concerned about may be forestalled.

That Oroville Dam thread was a heck of a good thread and very informative.

These sleazy politicians who are responsible for this Disaster-Waiting-To-Happen will blame anything including “global warming” or the Man in the Moon or the Bossa Nova.

Someday these lying politicians will be gone and their lying mouths stopped. What a day that will be.

The Oroville dam is doing just fine. It is releasing water down the spillway that was repaired in 2017(?)
This release is due to all the rain and snowpack this year. Upstream from this dam. So release now to avoid problems when the snowpack melts.
