Pictures were in all the major daily newspapers, videos on BBC etc, especially in Europe.
Or did you just take CIA's word for it?

There were no photos that themselves proved there were 100,000 Russian troops on that border. There were photos showing various groupings of Russian troops - none of which approached showing even 1% of that number - and you would also have to know exactly where and when the photo was taken. A photo appearing in a newspaper cannot prove that.
