Deploy NATO air in Ukraine and start WWIII. You know nothing about what is happening in Ukraine, only a shit storm of constantly contradictory disinformation. No one here knows how successful Russia has been. “Ghosts of Kiev”, Ukrainian turkey shoots taking out 60 tank Russian convoys, etc. Total BS. Look at how the experts take over a smaller country. In Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom we didn’t commit everything immediately. The Ukrainians have had a chance to negotiate a settlement. They are balking and holding out for NATO to deploy. Their time is up. Total Russian commitment, their Shock and Awe, is days or hours away. If NATO is there when it happens, you can kiss your and your kids’ asses goodbye. WWWIII to save the corrupt puppets of Washington’s DS oligarchs and the GD democrat party.
Putin can’t launch a nuclear war without his own country being wiped out. Not only would he be President of a wasteland, and survivors would likely grant Lindsey’s request.
It’s nothing but a bluff. But it’s got a bunch of cowards running scared and willing to sacrifice the 44 million people in Ukraine.
But Ukraine is not bluffed. They are fighting for their lives.
[Does anyone think Putin would hesitate to launch those nukes if US got directly involved in Ukraine war? Does anyone think at his age and rumors of cancer, Putin cares if he dies in a war?]
If he could kill the US without getting Russia killed in return, we would already be a pile of ashes on his first day as president. Fortunately for us, he cannot.
“Ukraine is not bluffed. They are fighting for their lives.”
Well, not all of them:

Breaking: Zelensky, after saying he would not abandon Ukraine, has fled the country

You just might be right. The conduct of ground operations indicates poor staff work preparing for the invasion. Given that the build up for the invasion took a while, the staff had plenty of time to formulate a good support plan and concept of operations. Of course, if you say you need 20,000,000 gallons of gasoline to fuel your tank army and the fuel is not available, your tank army is not going to get their fuel. And any concept of operations goes out the window even when resistance is negligible.
Forget it. No one here wants to hear common sense. They’re so hopped up on the tsunami of Western BS disinformation they appear not care if this ends in WWIII, as long as the serpent Putin is killed. This coordinated world wide ad hominem attack on Putin is most successful I’ve seen since they did the same thing to Adolf Trump.
Leftists hate Putin in the belief he stole the 2016 election from Hillary.
The Russians forgot they needed fuel for their aircraft?!? You’re serious? Good Lord.
The way Russian pilots in North Korea started WWIII?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_Union_in_the_Korean_War
They helped kill 38,000 Americans. As far as I know, we’re up to 2 World Wars so far. And the Russians served in AA batteries in North Vietnam that helped shoot down 10,000 US aircraft. No WWIII that I know of.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_aircraft_losses_of_the_Vietnam_War
I cannot help but wonder if the reason we are not seeing major air operations is the same as what happened to the two aircraft carriers, they were building 15-20 years ago.
I think I read that one was eventually scrapped and the other sold to India.
Third world shipbuilding is not compatible with 21st century carriers. I wonder if the same holds true for building aircraft.
That’s oil production. What about their refining capacity?
“Of course, if you say you need 20,000,000 gallons of gasoline to fuel your tank army and the fuel is not available, your tank army is not going to get their fuel. And any concept of operations goes out the window even when resistance is negligible.”
Russia’s kleptocratic governing system is also a cause. Some general was giving a million rubles to buy fuel for his unit, but half of that goes into his pocket.
He still reports that his unit is fueled up, and only once the war starts does anyone discover that the thanks are half full.
“Why else hasn’t it been deployed?”
We don’t know. Could be:
- throwing their old brute-force gear out there to use it up
- stuff works fine under training & bureaucracy & demos but fails under real-world use
- would have done well but Ukraine forces out-flanked it with something unexpected (man-portable cheap missiles)
- holding back the hotshot stuff for a real war, as surprise or limited availability.
Guess we’ll find out the hard way, when this expands.
BTW: the Belarus dictator gave his propaganda presentation, showed a map that included Moldova getting hammered next, with possible hints of future attacks on Poland/Lithuania/Latvia. This won’t stop with just Ukraine.
Another question is “Where are Russia’s Drones”? Drones are much more expendable than front line fighters, and Russia has showed off several drones, including their Predatorski. They should be loitering near the Kiev convoy 24/7.
Thanks.
You are starting to wise up.
Airlines have stopped going to Russia. The Russian AF has all they want.
Named for him, not founded. The old Duke died in 1852, long before “think tanks” were an idea.
“Third world shipbuilding is not compatible with 21st century carriers. I wonder if the same holds true for building aircraft.”
The same can also be said for the T-14 tank and the Su-57 fighter. Both are amazing on paper, and look good when they roll by in a military parade, but there is no evidence they exist as real weapons systems.
A Russian pilot who was shot down today had his targeting data scribbled on pieces of paper. A high tech operation this is not. I would think the average private pilot in the US is more tech savvy than the Russian air force.
