The number of pro-Soviet Afghans was small.

The number of pro-Russian Ukes % is almost exactly the same as pro-Brit Americans in 1776.

Ukrainian identity has reportedly strengthened among Russian speakers in the East of the Ukraine since 2014, during continuous hostilities.

The furthest East major city, Kharkiv, only 25 from the Russian border, is resisting mightily, and bearing some of the worst bombardment of civilians. This will probably turn them further against Russia generally.

The first large city to surrender, Kherson (in the South) is alive again with civilians protesting the occupation, chanting “We are Ukrainians”
