Putin is vested in Syria a great deal and Syria is one of his allies. So it’s quite natural he’d support Syria on the issue of the Golan Heights. And frankly Putins been active in the past couple years courting Israel.
Keep in mind how Putin thinks....He was and is opposed to any country going in and taking out the elected leadership.....But isn’t it interesting that now he’s gone into Ukraine the entire global community thinks it’s not alright for him to do so after watching the US created conflicts in Libya, Syria, Egypt and other nations. Which they have done so.

Yep, something like 2 million Russian Jews now in Israel, and Israel would not be bombing targets in Syria at will without Putin’s permission since he has S-400s there and they would have to be taken out first (and that, in itself, is no easy task).
