I had the pleasure to attend a presentation by the Israeli chargĂ© d’affaires. I was really impressed. This was at Ruby Diamond auditorium at FSU and there were about ten American pro Palestinian demonstrators. (We sat right next to them and I was dressed to have my front and profile picture taken.) The diplomat said, “I understand there are some Palestinian protesters here. Would you stand up and introduce yourselves?” I tried not to laugh as the guy beside me stood and slowly, then the others. They looked like they were about to be shot. The diplomat then said, “I’m guessing you’d like to say something. Will one of you come up here and speak for a few minutes about your concerns?” The guy beside me went up and made a horrible presentation, which the diplomate actually helped him with by organizing his complaints. When he was done the diplomat asked, “I want to make sure you’ve said everything you’d like to say. Is that it?” Yes, it was. And, after that they sat and listened looking for all the world like whipped dogs. Then, the diplomat addressed everything he’d said, very well and in detail. He tore apart their arguments without being insulting. It was AWESOME!

If Israel mediates both sides will feel like they were treated fairly. I guarantee it.

Thank you for that description of the talk you attended. Very interesting indeed. I wish I could see a video replay of it.

Perhaps you’re right..and interesting story I’ll add.

Still Im very much uneasy about Israel getting involved. I recall At Putins big parade Israel was pretty much the only Rep. of Western thought who showed up. And he was given the honorable seating next to Putin. My first thought then was ‘What are you up to Putin with Israel”.....though it was a feel good photo shoot people like to see Putin is always in the “on” mode, does nothing without a purpose to himself and his country.

Perhaps this might work....but it equally could not as well.

Frankly Putins griefs are understandable....and everyone knew if something wasn’t done about Ukraine Putin would. And here we are.

That I do agree with. Both sides trust Bennett, and so that’s the simple reason he’s been asked to sort this out.

Some really smart people in that collection. They mostly inspire confidence.

The Israelis that is.
