Well Putin is dealing with an Israeli “newbee”.....I believe he knows trying to negotiate with the “60’s” era leadership is fruitless. From our leadership to France and Germany it’s always been the same tag team he’s had to contend with and why nothing changed......they want Russia to always be the enemy.
Bush and Trump knew how to ‘deal’ with Putin sufficient to keep him content....for two reasons....they Respected him as a leader and he knew that....and they knew what he wanted and why....so they understood him. Both of these is paramount to Putin. Respect and Understanding for himself and his country.
So when you have someone swinging a bat like Obama did during his terms ....who thought he was now the Worlds fist against Putin....it was not surprising it drove Putin closer to China and Asia nations. And we have Obamas administration still running the show in Washington.
