The house is on fire and these idiots are worried about edging the lawn.

legacy media, it’s worthless as a news source, it is now only leftist activism.

The left pivots to climate change now that Covid has pooped out. What will the greenies say if Putin nukes a few cities and a giant cloud of radiation blankets the world?

Oh, bite me.

Human activity has nothing to do with global warming, it is Malenkovich (sp?) cycles. And, even if we are increasing CO2, good! Most plants thrive at ~1200ppm, not the measly 400 we are at now.

Also need daily reports on war’s impact on Gay, Lesbian, Trans, etc etc. How each group are affected by that day’s war activity.

And also how about a nice report on the race and ethnicity of all the civilians killed or injured each day?

We could send in a whole gaggle of social workers to handle these requirements.

I mean, knowledge is power.

Don’t watch them so I don’t care what they report.

As a project manager on military projects I read the entire contract. I think the worst was Future Combat Systems. Apparently, someone had a jihad against cadmium plating on connectors. Not only could we not use any cadmium product, if a company even sold a cadmium plated product that we were not buying, we could not buy from them. This meant we were having connectors specially made by people who did not ordinarily make connectors. There’s a lot of “art” in connectors.

This was only one of the spectacularly ridiculous green clauses in the contract. Every clause had a direct impact on cost, schedule and reliability. Our products were corroding during shipment, something my company had not experienced in anyone’s living memory. We had to bring almost every item back multiple times for “repairs” related to corrosion.

“There’s a lot of “art” in connectors.”

That I do understand. Most would be amazed at the amount of engineering involved, much painstakingly learned via experience.

I will admit that it is never a good idea to express an opinion without knowing the relevant facts. Yet, after reading just the first few paragraphs of this article on FR, I could not bring myself to read it in its entirety. Among the many opinion pieces I have read over the years, this one has to rank as one of the dumbest. Will we require the warring powers to file environmental impact statements, or otherwise open their military records to inspection so we can determine impact? But, why stop with war? Let’s require all the celebrities, our elite and our officials, such as the vacuous John Kerry, to file an environmental impact statement on every take-off. Or, better yet, have them ride coach with the rest of the deplorables.

The essence of communism is that human survival does not extend to the individual. If they want to weigh the effects of war on climate maybe they can include a statistic about how much less damage each casualty will live to exact upon the world. It would be a net positive in their eyes.
