Gotta do stuff to look tough or do they want this to spin out of control?

This is because Russia has been attacking shipping. Including at least one NATO country flagged commercial vessel. Things were “spinning out of control” so Turkey must put Putinist Russia on a leash there.

Shouldn’t let them leave the Black Sea either.

Yesterday Turkey said they had to let Russia through - today, no passage.

God only knows what’s going on behind closed doors in governments all over the world.

Turkey, a NATO member, won’t block access to the Black Sea by cutting off an international strait. It is an act of war. It risks a military confrontation with Russia.

Go on any flight radar, we’ve had a global hawk circling just off the southern shores of Crimea for awhile. It’s unusual for this to show up, is it to alert commercial traffic? (That’s already avoiding the area anyway) Or are we daring Putin to try something?

Turkey’s blockade could be seen as an act of war by NATO. So not sure this is good in terms of keeping us out of the wad.

Jennifer Griffin @JenGriffinFNC

NEW: Zelensky thanks Turkey for closing passage of Black Sea to Russian Warships. Big development. Turkey is an important NATO ally. The only public support Putin has received for invasion is from Syria's Assad.

Jennifer must be ecstatic.

Quick philosophical question...

I totally get that Russia has a compelling need for a year round port.

I totally get that Ukrainian Crimea has a warm water port on the Black Sea.

But doesn’t Russia already have thousands of miles of warm water coastline on the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov?

Why not build your own fooking port, Putin!
