One thing I detest about the Republican party is their neo-con heresy of US triumphalism as manifest in the Bush doctrine of American globalism. This war-hawk nonsense has to end. Russia is not a threat to the US.
Besides, Russia has more to fear from Germany and France then the other way around. Leading to my belief that the only utility that Nato still has is to keep the peace in Europe.
And why shouldn’t Russia be in Nato (as read in another post Putin approached Clinton on that question)? That would mean a non-aggression pact and peace all the way around.
Just imagine, a US aircraft carrier sailing with a Russian escort.

Putin is confronting NATO, demanding that NATO withdraw all forces from countries that entered NATO after 1997: Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
