Russian President Vladimir Putin will recognize the independence of eastern Ukraine's separatist republics, the Kremlin said in a statement Monday, adding that he had informed the French and German leaders of his decision.
"In the near future, the president plans to sign the order," the Kremlin said. It added that French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz had "expressed disappointment" over the decision in phone calls with Putin.

I agree
And soon
Tsar Vladimir wants to reestablish the Russian Empire at its height, which was larger than the Soviet Union. He will take back the old Soviet republics, along with the Scandanavian countries. Who’s going to stop him?
Good.
Next step is to recognize the Kresy as part of Poland.
If California wants to declare independence, I’d think it would be only decent to allow the really red parts to separate from the rest of the state, and then throw a real blowout of a farewell party for the rest of them—and if they want to take Portland and Seattle with them, grand.
What does the UN say?
I saw and interesting report on Ukraine on public TV. One shot showed thousands of people in Odessa demonstrating in favor of being Ukranian. Comments that 8 years ago there was strong pro Russia sentiment, but that has changed and people are learning to speak Ukranian. Second item showed large numbers of people being bussed from their homes in Ukraine to a city a thousand miles away for “temporary” refuge?
My military tactics advisor says Putin might be more likely to pull a bigger event in June or October. I was not clear on the reason he gave for June, but he said around October, all our troops in Europe who had 9 month deployments will be rotating back to the US, so there will be new guys with less experience, and general confusion.
I’m also wondering if this is part of a long range chess strategy which will later include the various stans—Tajikastan, Uzbekastan, etc. which used to be part of Russian territory. Of course, these Muslims may have a different idea about rejoining Russia. Lots to think about here. My military guy pointed out that as a chess player, Putin thinks 3 or 4 moves ahead, or maybe 10 or 12.
Do you have some links for the targeting of civilian infrastructure in these two areas?
Trying to say Ukraine has no separate identity seems to ignore a lot I have read about the power and autonomy of the Don Cossacks. It seems they had a well respected leadership structure in which a group elected leader decided who would have what land to cultivate each year. Being careful to distribute these benefits to people who knew how to manage them effectively. They despised the Bolshevics who gave us Lenin and Stalin and destroyed many of their people. And gave them forced collectivization which was an economic failure leading to much starvation in many areas of the USSR.
They will be governed by Russia. There will be no “self-government” in their future any more than there was when the Soviets’ manmade famine wiped out millions of the breadbasket’s farmers and also deported many of the survivors to Siberian labor camps.
Kind of like Tibet under Chinese “protection.” They replace Tibetans with Chinese and uh, NOW you guys can self govern...in Mandarin.
Probably not much since Russia is a member of the Security Council. There are now reports of columns of vehicles including tanks entering the Russian recognized statelets. No confirmation of numbers, but they are supposedly "peacekeeping forces."
Russian troops moving into Donbas not a ‘new step,’ administration official says.
The best explanation of what is happening right now.

I encourage you to listen to this 10 minute report.
Very interesting the Israeli connection...
But I don’t necessarily agree that this is prophetic in the way he thinks (timing wise.)
“Russian troops moving into Donbas not a ‘new step,’ administration official says.”
That’s a lie. Putin made clear his intention is to occupy the Ukrainian controlled territory in Donbas and not just what the Russian gangsters already stole.
Just like Lincoln recognizing independent West Virginia, huh?
Wishful thinking on their part...when Donetsk and Luhansk declared independence in 2014, their founding documents cover the entire territory not just the portions the separatists currently control. Russia will be assisting DPR/LPR forces in liberating the rest of their territory from Ukraine's control.
China must be very pleased that the US Media and the Western Powers are focusing on the shiny object that is Ukraine, while China continues their slow but sure build up to world domination...
