That was the most talked about response to an SOTU I can remember in my lifetime - complete with rich, white liberals like Joy Behar lecturing Tim Scott on how he doesn’t understand what it is to be black in America.
Let me amend that slightly - last year was not officially an “SOTU” - in the first year of a presidency it generically an address to a joint session of Congress, but still has an opposition response.
