Its not gone yet, The state is still not able to effectively fully suppress it no matter how much the left might try to use it to do so.
We are still able to commutate with each other and slowly get some of our ideas out past their cartels. It is by no means a fair fight but to be frank it is far more far than it was for most of the 20th century.
That is in fact is the origin of this whole problem. The left is finally having to deal with the fact that Conservatives have a means to commutate now.
The “more speech to counter bad speech” argument advanced at the beginning of the article also fails when only one side of the argument is permitted in the classroom. This is, of course, is due to “safety” considerations for oppressed and endangered communities (student and teacher).
So your captive audience is already in a suppressed speech environment and one deliberately created for the purpose of indoctrination, not education. Nor is the situation some accidental, unintended consequence. It is deliberate. And that is demonstrated by how strongly examination of instructional material and actual classroom instruction is being resisted.
The article is just another installment in that resistance.
I agree completely.
I tried to warn Freepers that didn't care what grownups did in their bedroom, that what they do in their bedroom doesn't stay in their bedroom. Now we have a real problem in our schools that a few irate parents will not solve.
Adults, sexually grooming minors, should be against the law.
No; they do not.
Leftist teachers can express their views all they want, OUTSIDE the classroom. Inside, they will be required to limit their speech to what their employer wants, same as the rest of us.
And what would happen to any teacher who decided to speak frankly about black crime rates, or who expressed the viewpoint that your sex is determined by your genetics and not your whim of the day?
