I've been hearing this phrase a lot lately. It is among the most idiotic things I've ever heard. If it changes, it isn't science.

Sort of agree. Science does not change but our knowledge of it does. What is happening now is a misinformation campaign by the democrat taliban party to “change” science to reflect whatever policy they demand to enact.
