You know, I think I am kinda glad. Queen Elizabeth is a class act and we all know Price Charles is kind of a dim bulb, but Camelia has been treated kinda shabby by the British Press for the last 25 years or so. So yeah, I am glad.
The Brits actually like her and the Queen realizes that. Now Meghan is another thing.

Queen Elizabeth made sure her kid-diddling son Andrew got away with his crimes. She had the ability to protect and help sex trafficking victims, she chose to shield her son instead. Whatever else she did or does in life, she did that.
Her entire reign has been an effort to protect the crown and royal traditions in England. In some ways, it's been admirable and possibly even brave. In other ways, she protects child predators who happened to be born into royalty. Making a pre-emptive announcement about the Queen Consort thing is probably her attempt at keeping yet another Crown-threatening act from destabilizing the royal family. Charles probably was going to do the whole Queen Consort thing anyway, and knowing he won't be a particularly popular king, she again shields a son from fallout and scandal.

Me too. Camilla used to dress in crappy clothes and looked horrible. But she has great clothes now, and probably a facelift.
Does that sound superficial? Well, so is the crown. I love all the pomp and circumstance of the Brits, do not give one single hoot in hell whether it’s superficial. Lizzy has had a long and wonderful run.
I.m old enough to remember her radio broadcasts during WW2 telling people to be brave. She was a young teen then. The BRF stayed in London while it was being bombed by the Nazis, though any family that could sent their kids up north where it was safer. An excellent monarch, now responsible for a lot of tourism, which brings in the bucks. I’ve been to London and absolutely love the pomp and circumstance.
