I.m old enough to remember her radio broadcasts during WW2 telling people to be brave. She was a young teen then. The BRF stayed in London while it was being bombed by the Nazis, though any family that could sent their kids up north where it was safer. An excellent monarch, now responsible for a lot of tourism, which brings in the bucks. I’ve been to London and absolutely love the pomp and circumstance.

I have read the biography of George Washington by Washington Irving, which was filled with contemporary witnesses, and it is clear that George Washington gave all due deference to King George as the monarch of England. Our American Revolution was not like the French Revolution where their King was put to death.
Our Revolution severed ties with our mother country because of the offences identified in our Declaration of Independence.

Washington never received the commission in the British Army he wanted. At best he was a Colonel in the Virginia Militia. The Brits wouldn’t give him the commission he wanted, and thank God for it.
"Consort" simply means spouse. A Queen Consort is Queen without sharing the royal bloodline. Diana would have been Queen Consort; Kate will be Queen Consort
The other option for Camilla would have been "Princess Consort" when Charles takes the throne. Now she will be Queen.
I think she's served the Firm well since marrying Charles in 2005 --- and the people love her.

That dolt Charles should’ve married Camilla from the get-go since he loved her and never loved Diana. Why ruin a young girl’s life? I never got caught up in the whole royal thing, but was Diana chosen for him to produce a certain bloodline for the throne?

When she dies it will effectively mark the end of the monarchy. It will remain but lose all it’s luster.
Camilla did no such thing. She and Charles are close with her children, and his ... along with a slew of grandchildren.
As I said earlier. Camilla's served the royal family well since marrying Charles 17 years ago .... and she's done it without making it all about herself.

The story is more that Camill and Charles were already in pove before either got married to other people. Diana was an aristocrat, albeit minor. Charles just continued with Camilla.
