It’s 35 weeks, more or less, to the election, with quite a number of those weeks spent in recess. In particular, the rats are going to want their length election year summer/fall recess to try to shore up their election prospects in their districts and states. If anything is to come out of Congress, every week counts. They were hoping to get some sort of stripped down BBB passed before SOTU early in March. Now that’s off the table

It is hard to say what the outcome of a stroke will be, especially a stroke which required opening up the patient's skull to relieve intercranial pressure. The Democrats are likely looking for a double to take his place. Here are a few that they already have in custody that with proper make up, grooming, and minor plastic surgery might be able to do it.

Could the Republicans force a vote to reorganize the Senate and be the majority for the next four to six weeks?

The Dems have nothing to worry about re: Biden’s SCOTUS pick.
Collins, Murkowski, Romney, and Graham (at the very least) will go along with it.
The (fill in the name of the black woman) will get at least 53 votes and probably more.

If it became that critical, he would be given the hook and the governor would replace him. Perhaps with an understanding he would be the party’s candidate in the special election that followed.

"Luckily for Democrats, some top items on the near-term agenda will need bipartisan agreement to reach the 60 votes that legislation usually requires."The idiot who wrote this doesn't seem to be aware that the Democrats could work with the Republicans on EVERY issue if they wanted to. All they need to do is simply walk across the isle, and say "Hey, let's get together on this". It must take an IQ less than 1 to become a journalist or editor these days, at least in the liberal outlets.

If they had to open the senator’s skull to relieve swelling, he’s not going to return the same guy he was, if at all.
