A man with local ties died Jan. 28 after doctors say his second COVID vaccine caused an immune response that led to the development of an autoimmune disease.
Brandon Pollet, 33, was born and raised in LaPlace and lived in St. Charles Parish for 10 years before moving to Ponchatoula.
“Brandon had no prior medical history,” Brandon’s wife Jessica Pollet said. “After his second Pfizer vaccine, Brandon developed a headache right away then fever 48 hours after.”
His first hospitalization was Oct. 21 – Nov. 7.
“He was worked up for hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, or HLH, but it was ruled out and he was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called Still’s Disease,” Jessica said. “After discharge, Brandon went home for about a month and was then re-hospitalized Dec. 14.”
Jessica said it was later in December when Brandon was officially diagnosed with HLH. The couple has a 1-year-old daughter.
“He received the HLH protocol treatment, which included chemotherapy,” she said last week. “Unfortunately, none of the usual treatments have worked. The doctors have agreed that the COVID vaccine caused an immune response that led to the development of the autoimmune disease and HLH.”
Jessica said that the employees of Shell Oil – where Brandon worked as an instrument mechanic – have been incredibly supportive and encouraging to the entire family, as has the entire St. Charles Parish community.
“The community has organized blood drives and a GoFundMe account to support Brandon and to help us pay medical bills,” Jessica, who took leave from work to care for Brandon, said. “We ask for your thoughts and prayers.”
The GoFundMe for Brandon Pollet – which has raised over $30,000 for the family – can be found by searching “Help Brandon with Medical Bills” on the site.
It’s not authentic - even the person uploading it wrote “This cartoon was not created in the 1930s”.
But as you say it captures the pandemonium nicely.

Sadly I expect more and more of these stories to appear along with many dying young from heart attacks and blood clots to the heart or brain, but by the Eternal they didn’t die of covid, well maybe they didn’t...
I had transvers myelitis when I was 19 and still suffer from it’s affects: no balance, weak leg muscles, no stamina walking, no feeling of hot or cold in legs. My GP said take the jab and I said that is so not happening. He insisted, said he took it and he’s fine. I said if nothing has fallen off of you in 5 years I would consider it. Six months later, he caught covid and changed his tune and supports my decision not to take the jab, go figure...
His one-year-old daughter no longer has a father because of the poisons called COVID vaccines.

I’m beginning to think someone in China was developing a engineered appetite suppressant and it mutated and escaped.
The only thing COVID does really well is cause you to loose weight very quickly.

The vaccine stimulated the autoimmune ailment psoriasis in my case. That - psoriasis - had all my 70+ years been a minor, tiny, very very limited issue, requiring no major treatments, ever, until beginning a few weeks after the two doses of the vaccine, when it began appearing in different places on my body it had never ever been seen before, until at its worse it had patches on just about every part of my body, from all four limbs to front and back of the torso.
My hope was that as the level of the MRna spike protein factories subsided, while topical treatments attacked the patches, the whole situation would gradually improve, and it has.
But is also means I will not take any additional MRna vaccines, ever again, and certainly not the current promoted “boosters”.
As a newbie, it had seemed to me to be odd that a thread had the first few comments all made as if all knew the others would be online at the same time, within a 24-hour day.
When we were residents in Europe -- no longer, as retirement graces us to be back in the states -- I used to observe these groups, names absent from other threads. That was before I joined and have sent greenbacks to FR for its support.
Back then I sent Euros to the Stiftung Corona Ausschuss to support them in a similar way, as they poked holes aplenty in the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna narratives.
Free Republic seems such a refreshing way to share ideas and details which mere headlines will not convey -- often intentionally. I have learned many things because Freepers post additional sources and sometimes have differing and yet informative positions. Thanks all.
