Kyle Rittenhouse won't get his gun back but will get a share of his $2 million bail money

At a short hearing Friday, Judge Bruce Schroeder approved two deals — one, agreed to by Rittenhouse, was to let authorities destroy the rifle; the other was to divvy up the $2 million bail with actor Ricky Schroder and a Texas non-profit organization led by Atlanta lawyer Lin Wood.

Under the agreement, $920,000 will be paid, in trust, to Richards & Dimmer, the Racine law firm that defended Rittenhouse. Another $925,000 will go to #FightBack Foundation. Schroder, who posed with Rittenhouse soon after he was released on bail, gets back $150,000 he contributed.

Rittenhouse was 17 at the time and couldn't legally purchase a firearm. The weapon was evidence at Rittenhouse's trial, and retained as evidence in a separate case against Dominick Black for providing the gun to a minor.

Those charges were dismissed after Black, 20, pleaded no contest earlier this month to a non-criminal citation for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Richards said Black had also expressed interest in claiming the gun, and that Rittenhouse was concerned Black might try to sell it for rumored six-figure offers.

"We didn't think anyone should profit it from it," Richards said.

Authorities returned Rittenhouse's clothing and cellphone to Richards on Wednesday. He said he will mail them to Rittenhouse.

Enough.

It is not a symbolic victory of anything.

Extracting oneself from a corrupt government can be very difficult.

So Lynn Wood, Ricky Schroder and Mike Lindell are named.

Probably a lot of small donors also.

“Who helped bail out Kyle Rittenhouse?

The Fight Back Foundation was co-founded by Lin Wood, one of Rittenhouse’s attorneys. The foundation which says “We fight back to protect individual rights and stop those who would use political power to attack constitutional rights,” set up a fund for Rittenhouse’s legal defense.

In a tweet Wood said that the fund was put “over the top” with help from actor Ricky Schroder and Mike Lindell, CEO of My Pillow.”

Did his ma get her $500,000 back?

“The total bail money, which also included $500,000 contributed by Rittenhouse’s mother Wendy Rittenhouse, was given to the court by then-Rittenhouse lawyer Pierce.”

"Wendy Rittenhouse raised a large sum of money which then went to Fight Back to bond Kyle out," Richards said. "Fight Back, us, Wendy Rittenhouse, all agreed how the money should be put together."

The judge signed off on the agreement proposed by Richards and agreed upon by the other parties. $150,000 will go to actor Ricky Schroeder, who donated to the bail fund. $925,000 to #FightBack, a group that raised money for Rittenhouse and $925,000 to Richards & Dimmer, S.C., IN TRUST.

Richards would not say how much of that money will actually go to Rittenhouse.

I think that most of the money from Wendy Rittenhouse was donation funds not her personal funds, but if she did use personal funds or borrowed money, I would expect that those funds would be returned to her.

Indeed.

It is hard to see through the murk of the exceedingly horrible reporting.

Journalists these days throw in as few facts as they can, just enough to claim their opinion piece is “news” and choos the facts to support their narrative.

You have to read multiple articles in order to glean any information and you can still be sure that the most salient facts have been left out on purpose.

And they still can’t figure out the reason their readership has tanked is because of their piss poor product.
